Rosemary Archer is an accomplished Ghanaian banker with over 20 years of experience across media, telecoms, and mainly banking. Originally from the Western Region, Rosemary has held several positions within the banking sector, ranging from Corporate and Institutional Banking to Retail, SME, Business Development, Treasury, Credit, Recoveries, and Export development, across various local banks, including UMB, Access Bank, and Fidelity Bank.
Currently, Rosemary serves as the head of SME Banking Department at GEXIM, where she has been instrumental in leading key initiatives to position SME businesses as a platform for facilitating the government’s industrial transformation agenda. In 2020, she spearheaded GEXIM’s ‘Tuesday Market’ initiative to promote locally made Ghanaian products, which received the CIMG President’s Special Award.
As Head of International Cooperation at GEXIM, Rosemary played a pivotal role in securing MoUs with international development banks, such as US Exim, India Exim, Indonesia Exim, Hungary, Thai, and Slovenia Exim, leading to new funding opportunities and knowledge transfer. During this tenure, the CEO of GEXIM was appointed to the high office of President of the Global Network of Exim Banks and Development Finance Institutions.
Rosemary holds degrees from three academic institutions, including Holy Child School, the University of Ghana, and the University of Bedfordshire in the UK. With her extensive banking experience and familiarity with GEXIM’s objectives, Rosemary is expected to excel in her current role and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the banking industry in Ghana.
