Mansa Nettey is an experienced finance professional with a background in corporate banking, financial and capital markets, and enterprise management spanning over 20 years; the last decade of which has been in Senior Management roles at Standard Chartered Bank.

 

She has considerable track record of strong performance, superior achievements and success in roles undertaken both at country, cluster and regional levels of responsibility. She possesses an acute understanding of the dynamics of managing a modern banking and finance organization across cultures and races.

 

Mansa currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank, a public company listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange.

 

Throughout her career, Mansa has proven to be an innovative and led the development and deepening of financial markets across West Africa through her sponsorship of the introduction of several novel products.

 

She is a Pharmacist by training and holds a B. Pharm (Hons) from the (Kwame Nkrumah) University of Science and Technology, Ghana and a master’s in business administration from Manchester Business School.

 

Driven by her passion for developing the next generation of leaders, she has attended many professional leadership development courses that continue to support her mentoring and training of many young professionals across the region, in her area of expertise.

 

Mansa’s passion for making an impact and belief that purpose is central to success has sustained her service on the boards of several charities in Ghana and her advocacy for the development of young talent and the next generation of leaders. She currently serves on the Boards and Advisory Councils of the Ghana Petroleum (Sovereign Wealth) Funds; The Leukemia Project Foundation; and United Way Charity, Ghana.

 

She was named in 2019 as one of the top 100 women CEOs in Africa in support of the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals by Reset Global People.

 

Under Mansa’s leadership and guidance Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited has won a number of awards including Excellence and Banking Innovation Award by the Digital Innovation & Excellence Awards; and Excellence in Employment Opportunity by the Ghana Disability Excellence Awards; and Africa’s Best Bank for Transformation by the Euromoney Awards for Excellence (in recognition of efforts made to navigate challenges in the Ghanaian banking sector and the building of a robust resilient bank with strong returns).

 

Mansa is married with a very active young daughter.

 

She was listed in the second publication of 100 Most Influential African Women in 2020 by Avance Media.
