Maidie Arkutu is an accomplished business leader and marketer with extensive experience in multinational companies. She currently serves as the Senior Vice President of New Business Development for Nutrifoods Ghana Ltd, a joint venture between Olam and Sanyo. In this capacity, she spearheads the development of new snack products and oversees the expansion into French West Africa.
Ms. Arkutu has had a successful career with Unilever, where she held numerous senior leadership positions across Africa. She served as the Vice President, Chairman, and Managing Director of Unilever Francophone Africa, where she managed over ten French-speaking countries and was based in Abidjan. Before that, she was the Managing Director of Unilever Ghana.
Ms. Arkutu is a seasoned marketer, transformational leader, and international executive. She holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and an MBA from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. She also holds a BA in Business Economics with a minor in French from Vesalius College, Belgium.
Ms. Arkutu has served on several boards, including GT Bank and Unilever Ghana Limited. She is a Steering Committee Member at the Skills Development Fund and a Member of the African Advisory Council of United Way Worldwide. She was also the Lady Chair and Executive Board Member of the Executive Women Network and a Board Chair and Executive Board Member of Unilever Francophone Africa.
Ms. Arkutu has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including the Marketing Woman of the Year (2015) at the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana Awards, the Outstanding Manufacturing Executive, Personal Products (2016) at the Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards, and the Female Influential Leader Award (2017) by Ghana UK Based Achievements (GUBA). She was also named one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business in Africa by Jeune Afrique Magazine/Africa Report Magazine in 2018.
