Hilda Baci is a multifaceted Nigerian chef, restaurateur, actress, and a Guinness World Record holder, has captivated the world with her culinary prowess and exceptional achievements.
Born on September 20, 1996, in the Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Hilda Baci’s culinary journey began as a celebration of her roots. She earned a degree in sociology from Madonna University in Okija, Anambra State. Her mother, a culinary chef, ignited her passion for cooking, inspiring her to embark on a culinary odyssey.
As the host of “Dine on a Budget,” a television show on Pop Central TV, Hilda Baci showcased her culinary skills and made cooking an art accessible to all.
Beyond the culinary world, Hilda has made her mark in the Nigerian film industry. Her roles in movies like “Dreamchaser” (2020), “A Walk on Water” (2021), and “Mr & Mrs Robert” (2023) reflect her versatility and creativity as an actress.
In March 2023, Hilda Baci set her sights on the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, a feat previously held by Lata Tondon. The “Cook-a-thon” commenced on May 11, 2023, and Hilda’s determination and culinary skills shone as she surpassed the previous record on May 15, 2023.
The marathon, initially set for 96 hours, extended to an impressive 100 hours. Notable personalities, including Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Tiwa Savage, Tim Godfrey, and Ice Prince, rallied around Hilda during the cook-a-thon. Even the Former Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, expressed support.
Guinness World Records, after meticulous review, officially confirmed Hilda Baci’s remarkable achievement—an astounding 93 hours and 11 minutes of continuous cooking.
In recognition of her exceptional contributions, Hilda Baci received the “Young Person of the Year” award at The Future Awards Africa in 2023, solidifying her status as a trailblazing figure.
