Helen Nankani is a highly accomplished retired Senior Economist with an impressive career spanning eighteen years at the World Bank. Throughout her tenure, she played a pivotal role as one of the pioneers in the World Bank’s initiatives on Privatization of Public Enterprises and Private Sector Development. Her expertise and leadership were instrumental in managing projects that focused on assessing the economic and financial viability of private sector involvement in the water sector, primarily in South Asia, the Caribbean, and Brazil.

 

During her time at the World Bank, Mrs. Nankani lived in Brazil for four years, where she spearheaded significant efforts in advancing private sector development and enhancing the economic landscape. Her contributions in this area were instrumental in shaping policies and strategies to promote sustainable growth and prosperity.

 

Before joining the World Bank, Mrs. Nankani held notable positions as a consultant for Arthur D. Little Inc. in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and The United Nations in New York, N.Y. Her work with these esteemed organizations allowed her to leverage her expertise in economics and make significant contributions to various projects and initiatives.

 

Additionally, Mrs. Nankani served as a partner at Financial Development Services, a renowned consulting firm based in Arlington, Virginia. In this capacity, she provided valuable insights and guidance to clients in the financial sector, contributing to the growth and development of organizations.

 

Mrs. Nankani’s distinguished career, marked by her expertise in privatization, private sector development, and economic consultancy, has established her as a respected and influential figure in the field. Her contributions to the World Bank and other esteemed organizations have left a lasting impact on the global economic landscape.
