Edith Uyovbukerhi is a dynamic and accomplished leader with a deep passion for giving back to society. She is the co-founder of LittleBigSouls International Charitable Organisation, a not-for-profit organization that aims to reduce the high rates of death and disability for pre-term babies born in Africa. In addition, Edith is the CEO of Sun Ridge Company Limited, Ghana, a leading manufacturer of premium quality packaged water.
Edith is a chartered accountant and a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. She holds an MBA in Finance from Stirling University in Scotland and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Brighton University, Brighton UK. With over 26 years of experience in blue-chip companies such as PwC, Cadbury, Nestle, and Diageo, Edith has a wide range of skills and expertise in accounting, finance, business management, strategic planning, project management, and business systems implementation.
Edith is a strong advocate for women’s leadership and empowerment. She is the Founder of Strands of Pearls International, a women’s organization that focuses on self-development, business solutions, and peer networking. She is also a Director and member of the Advisory Board of the African Women in Leadership Organisation (AWLO). Edith is a passionate champion of mentoring young women and co-initiated the “Path of Hope” movement for millennial ladies.
Her vision is to develop, empower, support, and inspire millennial ladies in Africa towards anticipating, leading, and celebrating positive change and development in society, the country, and the continent. Edith is involved with the African Innovation Foundation (AIF) and serves as a judge for their trailblazing Innovation Prize for Africa (IPA) initiative. She is a passionate ambassador for the organization and firmly believes in the potential of Africans to create innovative products and services that can shape the future of the continent for good.
Edith is also deeply committed to giving back to society and is involved in many community and charitable projects at the local and international levels. Her personal experience with premature birth inspired her to co-found LittleBigSouls with her sister, as a voice for preterm babies born in Africa. Through the organization’s equipment donation to neo-natal intensive care units, awareness, parental support, training, and advocacy programs, Edith aims to level the playing field for the care of preemies born in Africa and give these precious babies a fighting chance at survival.
In recognition of her outstanding achievements, Edith was chosen as the 2018/2019 Vlisco Brand Ambassador for Ghana by textile manufacturing giant Vlisco. She is married to Mitaire Uyovbukerhi and they have three wonderful children. Edith divides her time between Ghana and the UK, driven by her passion for making a positive impact in both countries.
