Dela Obeng-Sakyi is a highly skilled Barrister at Law and currently serves as the Head of Legal & Compliance at Databank. In her role, she provides invaluable legal advisory services and ensures the effective management of all legal and contractual risks. Dela takes charge of overseeing the legal aspects of the firm’s business relationships and ensures strict adherence to regulatory compliance within the organization.

 

Prior to her current position, Dela held the esteemed role of Senior Legal Officer for the Databank Group. In 2016, she was appointed as the company Secretary of Databank Money Market Fund Ltd., Databank Balanced Fund Ltd., and Databank Epack Investment Fund Ltd. Her professional journey also includes working with renowned organizations such as BentsiEnchill, Letsa & Ankomah, and the Minerals Commission.

 

Dela is widely recognized for her excellent analytical skills, research prowess, and exceptional writing abilities. She is known for her competitive and diligent approach in tackling legal matters. Additionally, Dela possesses a good working knowledge of the French language. Outside of her professional endeavors, she finds joy in reading, swimming, and snowboarding.

 

Dela’s qualifications include being called to the bar in 2001 and holding a Qualifying Certificate of Law from the Ghana School of Law. She further pursued an LL.M in Mineral Law & Policy and Sustainable Development, Renewable Energy & Policy from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, in the United States. Dela also holds an LLB degree from the University of Ghana.

 

With her extensive legal expertise and diverse educational background, Dela Obeng-Sakyi plays a pivotal role in ensuring legal compliance and providing strategic guidance at Databank. Her dedication to the field of law and commitment to upholding the highest standards of legal practice greatly contribute to the success of the organization.
