Board Member, GOIL Ghana
Angela Forson has been an integral part of the financial sector for the past 23 years, ever since her graduation from university. Her career commenced in Investment Banking, where she gained initial experience on the trading floor of the Ghana Stock Exchange. During this time, she served as an Authorized Dealing Officer for a year and a half.
Seeking to broaden her knowledge and expertise, she joined the esteemed asset management firm, Databank Asset Managers. Her tenure at the firm provided her with valuable insights and exposure as she contributed to the research unit.
With a desire to expand her horizons further, she transitioned to Fidelity Discount House, the leading Discount House in Ghana at that time. This opportunity allowed her to delve into the intricacies of the money markets, deepening her understanding of the financial landscape. Coincidentally, the Ghanaian financial sector underwent significant reforms when several Nigerian banks entered the market during her seventh year at Fidelity Discount House.
As Fidelity Discount House transformed into a comprehensive Universal bank, she seized the chance to explore corporate banking. She assumed leadership of the Telecoms and Multinational desk and steadily progressed through the ranks, eventually becoming the first female Director in charge of the Institutional Banking Unit. In this role, she spearheaded critical syndications and oversaw the Government and Parastatals Business portfolio.
After an impressive seventeen and a half years at Fidelity Bank, she departed as the Divisional Director and Head of the Corporate and Investment Banking Unit. Currently, she serves as a member of the management team at Consolidated Bank Ghana, responsible for leading the Institutional Banking team. Throughout her journey, she has found fulfillment and excitement in her career, reaping the rewards of her dedication and expertise.
Angela Forson is ranked in Avance Media’s Inaugural list of Top 100 Ghana’s Women Board Directors collated in partnership with Acreaty Ghana.
