Helen Amarquaye is a Ghanaian Risk Management and Compliance professional with over 25 years of experience across multiple industries including Insurance, Telecommunications, and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). She was appointed as a Director on the old mutual Ghana board on November 14, 2017.
Helen is currently the Controls, Compliance, and Ethics Director at Guinness Ghana Breweries Plc, which is part of the Diageo Group. Before this, she held senior management roles at both MTN and Vodafone in Ghana. Helen has also worked with various UK insurers such as Swiss Re Group, Aviva Plc, and Prudential Assurance, where she held Risk Management, Underwriting, and Audit roles.
Helen obtained her MBA from Durham University Business School in the UK and is a Chartered Insurer from the UK Chartered Insurance Institute. She also holds an Advanced Diploma in Insurance, a Certified Risk & Information Systems Control qualification, and is a Certified Member of the Business Continuity Institute UK.
Outside of her professional work, Helen serves as a director for the Theatre for Social Centre, a position she has held since 2010. Helen is an accomplished professional with experience in strategic risk management, compliance, and ethical practices across multiple industries.
