Françoise Remarck is serving as the Minister of Culture and Francophonie in the Republic of Ivory Coast, and brings over 35 years of extensive experience in leadership roles, making significant contributions to the media and distribution sectors on both continental and international levels.
Françoise Remarck is a distinguished graduate of the École Supérieure de Commerce d’Abidjan (ESCA) and holds an Executive MBA from HEC Paris. Her academic foundation has been pivotal in shaping her illustrious career.
Commencing her professional journey in 1986 with Ernst & Young in Paris, Françoise quickly established herself as a dynamic and capable professional. In 1992, she returned to her homeland, Côte d’Ivoire, playing a crucial role in the establishment of Canal + subsidiary. Over eighteen years, she ascended from Finance Director to ultimately becoming the Chairman and CEO of the company.
In 2010, her expertise led her to the position of Director of Communications and Institutional Relations for the Canal+ Africa Group in France, contributing significantly to the Group’s strategic development plan on the Continent. Subsequently, she took on the role of Vice President at the Franco-Japanese CFAO Group, overseeing Institutional Relations and Communications, particularly focusing on implementing large-scale projects in Africa.
Françoise Remarck made the impactful choice to return to Côte d’Ivoire, where she was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors for two Canal + Group subsidiaries.
Throughout her career, Françoise Remarck has been an active member of several Boards of Directors in diverse sectors such as banking, insurance, and services. Additionally, she contributed her expertise to the Investment Committee of a fund dedicated to SMEs, showcasing her commitment to supporting business growth.
As Vice-President of the Patronat Ivoirien, Françoise played a crucial role in the business landscape, contributing to the economic development of Ivory Coast.
Françoise Remarck’s outstanding leadership qualities have culminated in her current role as the Minister of Culture and Francophonie in the Republic of Ivory Coast. In this capacity, she continues to drive initiatives that foster cultural growth and promote the significance of Francophonie.
