Bimbo Ademoye, a distinguished Nigerian actress, has rightfully secured her place in the 5th list of 100 Most Influential African Women in 2023 by Avance Media. Recognized for her outstanding contributions to the film industry, she clinched the Best Actress in a Comedy/TV series award at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for her exceptional performance in the film Selina.

 

Born on 4 February 1991 in Lagos, Southwestern Nigeria, Bimbo Ademoye is a talented actress who embarked on her educational journey at Mayflower School. She later pursued Business Administration at Covenant University, showcasing her commitment to both academic and artistic pursuits. Raised by a supportive single father, Bimbo found solace and encouragement to pursue her passion for acting.

 

Bimbo Ademoye’s acting journey commenced in 2014 when she was cast in the short film Where Talent Lies, a production that garnered accolades at the Africa International Film Festival. Uduak Isong, a prominent figure in the industry, played a pivotal role as her mentor, facilitating her entry into the world of acting. In 2015, Ademoye made her mark in the feature film Its About Your Husband, produced by Isong.

 

Her career gained significant momentum, and by 2018, Premium Times newspaper recognized her as one of the actors predicted to have a successful career. Collaborating with seasoned actors like Stella Damasus in Gone, directed by Daniel Ademinokan, further solidified her standing in the industry. Notably, she earned a nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy/TV series at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in 2018 for her role in Backup Wife (2017).

 

Bimbo Ademoye’s talent and versatility earned her nominations at prestigious events such as the City People Movie Awards and the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Her role in Backup Wife also garnered a nomination for Best Lead Role at the 2018 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Notably, she secured the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and received a nomination for Best Kiss in a Movie at the 2018 Best of Nollywood Awards for her outstanding performance in Personal Assistant.
