Beatrice Agyeman Abbey, a prominent Ghanaian media executive, has rightfully earned her place in the 5th list of 100 Most Influential African Women in 2023 by Avance Media. As the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Media General, a leading media organization in Ghana, Beatrice oversees the operations of TV3, Onua FM, 3FM, Connect FM, Akoma FM, and MG Digital, among other platforms.

 

Beatrice Agyeman Abbey is a distinguished alumna of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), where she obtained both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Her educational background has laid a solid foundation for her illustrious career in the media industry.

 

Beatrice embarked on her career journey in 2000, initially serving as a reporter and later advancing to roles as a Broadcast Journalist and News Anchor. With a passion for journalism and a commitment to excellence, she made a mark in the media landscape.

In 2017, Beatrice Agyeman Abbey assumed the role of General Manager for Media General, demonstrating her leadership acumen and strategic vision. Prior to this, she held key positions within the organization, including Head of Media General Digital and General Manager of Media General Radio. Throughout her career, Beatrice has had the privilege of interviewing notable personalities such as John Agyekum Kufuor, John Mahama, and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

Her experience extends beyond Ghana, as she has collaborated with major international news houses, including BBC, Sky TV, Citizen TV, CNN, VOA, and Kiss TV in Kenya. Beatrice’s global exposure has enriched her perspective and contributed to her success as a media professional.

 

Beatrice Agyeman Abbey’s outstanding contributions to the media industry have been acknowledged through prestigious awards. In September 2020, she received the Excellence in Media award at the Ghana Women of the Year event organized by Glitz Africa. Her dedication to excellence was further recognized in May 2021 when she was honored as the Outstanding Broadcast Media CEO of the Year at the Ghana Entrepreneur and Corporate Executive Awards, organized by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana (EFG).
