Dr. Cynthia Forson is an accomplished academic and serves as the Deputy Provost at Lancaster University Ghana (LU Ghana). In her role, she provides crucial support to the Provost in managing and delivering the academic programs at LU Ghana, with a particular focus on ensuring academic quality assurance and driving curriculum development.
Before joining Lancaster University Ghana, Dr. Forson held the position of Head of the Department of Management Leadership and Organisation at the University of Hertfordshire Business School. With extensive experience in academia, she specializes in teaching human resource management, organizational behavior, and qualitative research methods. Her dedication and expertise have earned her recognition as a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.
Dr. Forson’s research interests revolve around equality, diversity, and inclusion in the labor market and organizations. Her particular focus lies in understanding the intersectional influences of gender, ethnicity, class, and migrant status on the lives and careers of women, especially African women both on the continent and in the diaspora. She actively contributes to the advancement of these topics by serving on the boards of various companies, where she brings her expertise in teaching and research to enhance their strategic management. Notably, Dr. Forson serves as the Chairman of the Board of Allstar Insurance Brokers Limited and as a member of the boards of Calbank Plc and Africa Partners Medical Ghana.
Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Dr. Cynthia Forson is passionate about promoting women’s leadership across all sectors. She actively advocates for professionalism and provides skills training programs aimed at empowering women to access income-generating opportunities. With her extensive experience in leadership and management training, as well as expertise in equality, diversity, and inclusion, she employs innovative approaches that encourage self-discovery and enhance the participants’ own learning.
Dr. Cynthia Forson’s dedication to academia, research, and fostering women’s leadership has made her a respected figure in her field. Her contributions to higher education and commitment to promoting equality and inclusivity continue to have a lasting impact on individuals, organizations, and society as a whole.
