Nora Bannerman Abbott is a highly experienced entrepreneur with over four decades of expertise in developing and promoting indigenous Ghanaian businesses. She is currently the CEO of Sleek Garments Export Limited and has successfully managed various firms, including Sleek Fashion Limited and Sleek Garments Export Limited. Nora established the Africa Sleek Institute of Creativity and Technology over 40 years ago, which has trained hundreds of young women in textiles, and many of them have gone on to establish their own successful businesses.

 

In 2019, Nora was recognized as one of the Top 20 Global Female Business Leaders by the International Financial Corporation. She was also inducted into the Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame in 2021, a testament to her significant contributions to Ghana’s business community.

 

With her extensive experience and investment exposure, Nora has provided consultancy services to numerous organizations in textiles, garments, leather, and related industries. She specializes in Business Management, Export Promotion, Trade Policy Negotiation, Business Development, and Export Marketing. Furthermore, Nora established the Sleek Fashion Institute, which provides training in these areas.

 

Nora is currently a Member of the Governing Board of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), the Governing Council of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), and an Executive Member of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI). She has also served as the Chairperson of the Garments and Textiles Sector for the AGI and as a Member of the Advisory Board for the Africa Centre for Economic Transformation (ACET).

 

As a member of Rotary International, Nora served as the Past President of the Rotary Club of Accra-North. She holds an ICSADiploma from the Accra Technical University and a Certificate in Modern Methods of Textile Management from the Illinois State University. Nora’s expertise, experience, and extensive network have made her an essential figure in promoting indigenous Ghanaian businesses, and she is expected to continue making significant contributions to Ghana’s business community.
