Elaine is an accomplished private management consultant with over 30 years of experience in Journalism, Public and Community Relations, and Human Resource practice. Starting her career as a reporter and Women’s page editor for the “Ghanaian Times,” Elaine worked her way up to senior positions such as Public Relations and Human Resource Manager for the UAC of Ghana group (now Unilever), General Manager (Human Resources) for Ashanti Goldfields, and Community Resources Coordinator for the West Africa Region of AngloGold Ashanti.
Elaine’s passion for internal PR led her to establish the Community Relations desk, which improved communications with the many communities surrounding the concession. She was later appointed Community Services Coordinator for the West Africa Region after the merger with AngloGold. In 2006, Elaine founded the Public Relations department for Golden Star Resources from scratch.
She was also a member of the team contracted by the Public Sector Reform to gather data for the implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure. Elaine is an advocate for community and women’s empowerment and is passionate about enhancing life in districts to prevent urban migration. In 2015, she was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the mining industry and awarded the “Women of Excellence Award” by the Top Brass Co. of Ghana.
Elaine holds diplomas from the Ghana Institute of Journalism and the School of Journalism Hungary, as well as a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. She is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Institute of Public Relations Ghana, the Council of Patrons CSR Foundation, Ghana, Ghana Institute of Management, Ghana Journalists Association, and the Society of Human Resource Practitioners, US.
In her free time, Elaine enjoys reading, music, dancing, debating, and mentoring young women.
