Prof. Olivia A. T. Frimpong Kwapong is a distinguished academic who currently serves as the Dean of the School of Continuing and Distance Education at the University of Ghana. As an accomplished leader, she manages the human, financial and material resources of the school in line with the policy framework of the University.
With a PhD degree from the University of Ghana and as a Special Doctoral Candidate at Harvard University, Prof. Kwapong’s research has primarily focused on the empowerment of women through adult education, open and distance learning, and the use of ICTs. Her research has led to the publication of five books and over 30 journal articles, both locally and internationally.
Prof. Kwapong has also consulted for various local and international organizations, promoting the empowerment of women and creating access to tertiary education. She has received numerous awards, allowing her to travel and study abroad while undertaking research.
Currently, Prof. Kwapong chairs the Governing Council of the Presbyterian Woman’s College of Education and serves as the Board Chair of the Graphic Communications Group. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Africa Peace Network and the Social Science Research Council, New York.
